More Sledding Pics

It was a warm day (over 50) so we decided to have another day of sledding. This time, Kirby came along. You might notice the last picture pretty much sums up his feelings on the sport.

Merry Christmas!

Not very many pictures, I'm afraid. We were too busy enjoying the morning.

Christmas Eve and Sledding.

Christmas Eve we left out cookies and milk for Santa.

Which, of course, meant we had to have some of our own.

We open one present on Christmas Eve.

The kids get a new Christmas ornament each year.

London got Sleeping Beauty.

Kirby needs a little help opening his.

Kirby got the Fisher Price Barn (he got the real one for Christmas).

Hmm...I wonder why someone's cheeks are rosey?

Because she had just come in from sledding with Daddy.

She's a big girl, she can go by herself!

She thinks it's funny to fall over at the end. :)

Daddy is there to brush her off.

We're Back!

Not back in Arizona, mind you. No, I mean we're back in blogland. We've had quite an extended stay away.

We are all moved in and quite settled, trying to get into a routine. London has started with her new preschool and she loves it. There was never any doubt. The little girl is a social butterfly and loves to learn, so preschool is like sugar straight to the bloodstream for her.

The boy is...well, the boy. He's into everything and makes a game out of everything. He wasn't sure what to make of the cold but has since come to terms with the fact that he must wear a jacket and mittens daily now. He wasn't too pleased in the beginning.

I thought I'd share a few pictures of what we've been up to:

We had roughly 2" of snow the other day. Most of it has since melted but London found enough to make an almost-her-size snowman. Daddy helped, of course. Yes, she's out there wearing a skirt and tights. Don't tell her what to wear - ever. She'll figure out what it means to be cold but it will be on her own terms, in her own time.
The kids found something of interest out on the front porch. Hmm...whatever could it be?

Mommy, why isn't the birdie flying away? Is he taking a nap?

Kirby, having been taught to scare the birds away in Arizona (so they wouldn't eat the grass seed) tries valiantly to bang on the window to get the bird moving. No luck.

This birdie ain't going anywhere.

Kirby and London helped to decorate the Christmas tree. And by "help" I mean Kirby found the car ornament and that was the end of decorating.

London, however, picked up the slack. She did a beautiful job. Wouldn't you say?

This is London refusing to have her picture taken. This happens only once every 7,452 years so, unfortunately, none of us will be alive when this phenomenon comes around again.

The Arlington Volunteer Fire Department held a pancake breakfast for the entire town. Pictured above is the entire town. Okay, I'm exaggerating but not by much!

The fire department invited a special guest to come and speak with all the kids. London expressed her interest in a Barbie doll which I found odd since she doesn't play with the eleven she already has!
Kirby expressed a few things as well but it was more like discontent rather than desire for new playthings.

Well, that's all for now. We'll try to do a better job of keeping up with the blog. We're more settled in now, so it shouldn't be that difficult. In theory, anyway. :)

Love to you all!
